QUALIFICATIONS:

 

- Bachelor s degree in horticulture, botany, natural sciences or a related field
- Prefer experience as a professional horticulturist, desire to remain updated with new agricultural trends and technology
- Prefer a couple years in a lead position
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, verbal and written skills, time management, multi-tasking, and team leadership abilities
- Coordinates heating and cooling of compost
- Help manage input inventory for compost
- Establishes and maintains high standards and practices; providing direction, training, and motivation for the staff
- Works with staff developing long-term productive relationships and growing efficiency for the department

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a good Phase 1 Assistant Manager who assists the Phase 1 Manager with managing the quality of compost and raw materials. Role and Responsibilities: Follows all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP\'s). Keeps up daily records that monitoring compost quality. Assists with visual observation of Staff and compost condition. Keeps a daily report with the Phase 2 Management. Attends and participates in weekly compost meeting. Assists with disciplinary tasks (warnings, suspensions, terminations). Helps to supervise and control the staff productivity (correct filling of tunnels). Assists with continuous improvement approaches to waste and cost reduction, crop improvement, labor efficiency and machine reliability. Attends all monthly Safety Meetings with management and staff. Maintains compliance with all applicable local, state and federal regs. Assists with oversight of employee staff and on-site contracted services. Review all variables to create more consistency. Adjust settings according to external environmental conditions. Monitor raw material quantity and quality. Supervision of staff and quality of compost with data entry regarding the same.
