JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a large dairy operation located in Indiana who are searching for a Climate and Conservation Lead. The Climate and Conservation Lead will play a key role in advancing their commitment to sustainability across all aspects of the dairy farm operations. Candidate will work closely with various departments to develop, implement, and monitor sustainable practices that align with company values and meet the expectations of customers both now and in the future.
Responsibilities:

1. Strategy Development:
   • Collaborate with senior management to develop a comprehensive sustainability strategy that aligns with the company and customer’s goals and objectives.
   • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to sustainable agriculture and dairy production.
2. Implementation and Compliance:
   • Lead the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives across all farm operations, including but not limited to waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, and emissions reduction.
   • Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations and standards, as well as certifications, including animal welfare best practices and Non-GMO status.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
   • Cultivate relationships with customers, suppliers, government agencies, and community stakeholders to promote transparency and collaboration in sustainability efforts.
   • Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and working groups focused on sustainability and regenerative agriculture.
4. Data Analysis and Reporting:
   • Develop, maintain, and employ systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting information for key sustainability metrics and performance indicators.
5. Assessing the financial implications of sustainability initiatives, including potential cost savings, revenue opportunities, and return on investment.
   • Prepare regular reports for internal partners and external stakeholders to track progress and demonstrate the impact of sustainability initiatives.
6. Continuous Improvement:
   • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in sustainability and regenerative practices and processes through regular monitoring, evaluation, and feedback.
   • Participate in the team’s implementation of innovative solutions and technologies that enhance the sustainability of our operations.
